The American
Sewing Guild is an organization for people who think sewing is a creative
and rewarding activity. People who feel that sharing the benefits and
joys of sewing is almost as much fun as sewing itself. The Guild
provides up-to-date sewing information and a friendly support system for
sewers at all levels of experience.
ASG
Headquarters
At
Association Headquarters membership and Chapter records are maintained
in a central file. Guild Headquarters provides the link to all the
Chapters in the Guild network. Consumer attitudes, opinions and desires
can then be represented as a national organization to the sewing
industry.
Each
year the Guild hosts a convention giving all members a place to meet sewing professionals and other sewing
enthusiasts from around the country and share in seminars and sewing
related special events.
Publications
Guild
members receive the American Sewing Guild's national publication Notions
filled with
an inspiring variety of projects and tips. the latest sewing industry
news, new products, introductions to sewing experts, and Guild news.
In
addition to the national publication most Chapters publish a newsletter
four to six times
a year that communicates Chapter events, neighborhood group locations
and
activities, lists of discounts with retailers and features special
interest articles.
Guild
Chapters
The Guild is made up of over
115
chapters that promote
sewing in their local communities through encouragement, assistance and
instruction. They also host social events such as fashion shows or
sewing fairs and many do sewing related service projects for their
community. Through their Chapter, Guild members can increase confidence
and expand individual skills at classes, demonstrations and lectures by
experts.

Chapter operates under the guidance of a volunteer Chapter President and
